Can a Return Address Go on the Back of an Envelope

Return address on back flap of envelope?

I just read a "PSA" post on some other website from a couple who put their return address on the back flap of their invitation envelopes. They concluded up having a bunch of the invitations come back to them because some of the envelopes were put in the machine upside downwardly and information technology read their address as the "ship-to" accost. We sent out test invitations and they were fine, but now I'm nervous some won't be delivered. Anyone else run into this trouble?

I did ours on the dorsum flap considering the calligraphy was pretty big on the front and made it await chaotic. I sent out roughly 90 invitations, I had i that came back to me for some reason (mayhap that reason)...then I confirmed the accost and mailed it a second time, Information technology got there no problem. I would not be overly concerned virtually this.

We did ours on the back likewise. Sent out about 65 STDs and invitations that way and no problems any.

I've been slightly concerned about this after reading a similar post, simply after doing some research it seems like this RARELY is an upshot. I also heard you tin can ask them to hand stamp them instead of putting them through the machine, although I'one thousand non sure how excited the postal workers would be about hand stamping 100 invitations. I do have our return address on the dorsum flap for aesthetics, but I do programme on walking them into the Mail Office and pointing that out and asking if they tin can do anything to make certain at that place isn't a problem.

I sent out STD's with Return accost on the dorsum and then far none have come up back. All my life I've always put return address on the back then hopefully invites go smoothly!

ETA I practice wonder how all that works, if it'south reading the back side of the envelope as the front end, how is it mailing information technology if there's no stamp on the "front"?

I did this for my salvage the dates. 69 sent out and 2 came dorsum for what I am guessing is this reason (the addresses were right). I merely sent them back out and they got there fine.

Our address was on the back of both our STDs and invitations, and we did not accept any issues with returns (though one invitation never made information technology to the destination).

We sent nigh 35 invites and the aforementioned number of STDs about half dozen months earlier, all with the address on the back flap but had no issues!

We used an embosser with our address on the back flap with no issues. Make sure y'all enquire them to hand abolish and the problem tin can probably be avoided.
